Welcome to Carolina Dallett's Site! I am a PhD student at
UC Berkeley.
contact: cdallett@gmail.com (or cdallett@berkeley.edu)
My main work in Bioinformatics education can be found
here .
I am originally from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil and my family lives in
Barbacena, MG. It is in the mountains and I was raised playing with waterfalls and wild life. My favorite
waterfall , Bride's Veil, is homage to the luscious body of water that comes down every summer during the rainy season. My fondest memories are climbing to the top of this waterfall, jumping from the rocks aiming at the pool between underwater rocks and finding birds and plants native to the serra do Cipo ecological park.
As a good Brazilian, I have a favorite soccer team (Clube Atletico Mineiro) and an arch-enemy team (Cruzeiro Mineiro), our healthy competition is present in every wall and conversation in my home-town Belo Horizonte. Healthy rivalry is so strong that even in school, you don't cross soccer
lines.
I now live in
Oakland in California and love its diversity, people and weather.
