PhyloFacts::PhyloBuilder PhyloBuilder Graphic

PhyloBuilder is designed to assist biologists in phylogenomic analysis of a protein, starting with the identification of family members (homologs), and proceeding to multiple sequence alignment and phylogenetic tree construction. Additional analyses include... More information.

Homolog selection
Global-global: Find globally alignable homologs (roughly the same length, and sharing the same series of domains). This excludes sequences sharing only a region in common, and is recommended for phylogenomic inference of function.
Global-local: Find homologs that match the seed along its entire length, but may contain additional domains. This is recommended when the query represents a domain, motif, or evolutionarily-conserved region that may be found in highly divergent proteins.
